Independently plan, schedule and perform computations/analyzes, prepare and make presentations, and document results in technical reports. Perform analyzes in support of the design and design verification of Special Test Support Equipment and other ground support structures for flight hardware testing. Analyze complex features of the work and apply principles and practices of structural analysis, or devise new approaches in problem solutions. Thoroughly review all results from assigned tasks and determine if outputs are complete, correct, integrated with project objectives, and adequately documented. Follow existing processes and procedures and recommend process improvements where appropriate. Participate in Process Improvement Teams and standing committees.
Required Skills and Education:
BS degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited institution with a minimum of 10 years applicable experience in the analysis of structural systems using strength of materials and finite element based methods is required. Familiarity with space flight vehicles, rocket propulsion system, components, and their associated Ground Support Equipment/Special Test Equipment is desired. Experience with PATRAN/NASTRAN/FEMAP and/or ANSYS is required. Excellent communication skills are required.
